Objectives
To increase the quality of life for our students by means of a formal education, medical assistance and nutrition.
More specifically
Actual Education Situation in Guatemala
Education Financing – The approved financing for public education in Guatemala is hardly 1.9% of the gross national product, which indicated the problems of coverage and the quality of education. In the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean financing is at least 4.4% of the GNP.
The cost of not investing in education – In the last five years progress has been made for matriculation in pre school but the quality of learning is deficient and rates of absenteeism, student retention and drop outs are extremely elevated.
Statistically Speaking:

In general terms, we can say that the allowed budget for the education system has been extremely low in comparison to the necessities that prevail in Guatemala. UNESCO recommends that the investment in education should be at the least seven percent of the GNP, which coincides with the National Education Law established in 1991 but that is not be fulfilled.
With this as a reality, we decided to continue with the Proyecto Niños del Lago and to continue helping more students from our community that have the desire to improve themselves thru education.
